홍콩 인터아시아 경매에 출품.

Korea (North), 1953 (Dec.) Kaesong provisional imperf. 5w. magenta block of four, very fine and fresh unused without gum as issued, very rare. Ex Dong Hyocha.
Estimate 35,000 - 40,000

In order to cope with the absence of a 5 won denomination stamp with the introduction of overseas airmail rates (85 won postcard, 95 won letter, 145 won registered letter), the Kaesong Post Office starting indicating in manuscript "5 won paid separately" in mid-October 1953 on the cover and at the beginning of December introduced a rectangular chop inscribed "Korea Postage Stamp/Ministry of Communications" with a 5 won denomination, initially struck on the envelope or card. on or about 5 December the chop was applied to paper creating provisional stamps which could be attached to the envelope or postcard, with this provisional period ending by 9 December with the delivery of the 5 won on 6 won Flag surcharges.

The Kaesong provisionals were first recorded by K.F. Pesák in the Czech journal Filatelie in 1973. An unused block of four along with an example on part cover (95 won letter rate) were exhibited by Börje Wallberg RDP at the International Exhibition in Bulgaria in 1989. It is believed that only three blocks of four, which are all unused, are recorded, along with a few unused examples and less than a handful on cover.
